Working with the Gorge Photography business cards was a fun experience, mostly because of the challenges involved. Because of a limited budget and an unwillingness to compromise on quality, extensive research went into who would produce the cards. We eventually settled with Mama’s Sauce, an Orlando based letterpress print shop. They came to our attention via Henry Perez, and we cannot thank Henry enough. I spent weeks looking over their work, contacting both them and other letterpress companies, hoping one of them would be within our budget.

We are pleased to announce that yesterday afternoon, Wednesday February 8, 2012; Caleb closed our first major deal with The Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center. Whether they are sharing the amazing history of the Gorge with their 25,000 annual visitors or playing host to the always popular Show ‘n’ Shine, The Interpretive Center has played an important role since they opened their doors in 2005. We will be working with the Interpretive Center to develop a new website and social media presence that reflects their goal of being a “good steward of the history of Skamania County and the Gorge.”

To completely understand the logo process for Gorge Photography, it is important to know some background on the company. Caleb Wheeler founded Gorge Photography in October 2011. This coordinated well with our collaboration and launch of the gorge project on January 1st 2012. Caleb’s passion for photography has allowed him to transition his expertise into the professional realm. This process has established an immediate need for a corporate identity. I initiated the development of Gorge Photography’s identity by delivering a logo that met Caleb’s specific needs.
